Obtained her Ph.D. in Sociology from Goldsmiths, University of London. Since 2014 she has been working as researcher in the Brazilian International Migration Observatory (OBMigra), at University of Brasília (Brazil). She has taken part in many research projects about migration in Brazil and the UK. In the UK, she worked to University of Oxford as a researcher in the Brazilian research team, on a research project named THEMIS (Theorizing the Evolution of European Migration Systems). She participated in several surveys held by GEB (Brazilian Research Group in the UK), which mapped Brazilian migrant profiles, difficulties and labour trajectories. In Brazil, she participated in research projects about Haitians in Brazil, funded by IOM (International Organization for Migration) and Brazilian Labour Ministry and about Cuban doctors in Brazil, funded by PAHO (Pan American Health Organization). Her main areas of research are Brazilian migration, transnational families, care and migration policies. Her more recent book publication includes Critical Dictionary of International Migration (2017) and articles about Haitian Immigrants in the Brazilian Labour Market (2017) and Brazilian political transnationalism: the role of migrants in development of migration policies (2016).
